"My best times were with the band. Evolving from one of the worst in 1969 to being one if not the best in 1972-73. It was truly the "Pride of the Chicago". As Head Drum Major, I was given a lot of responsibilities and leadership that I will always treasure. It paved the way for many of my feature accomplishments. I also remember the great teachers we had that really cared about the students. They wanted us to be the best in all we did (i.e Harold Bray, Dr. Joe Miller, Principal Reginal V. Brown). There was and is something special about CVS that will never be forgotten! and I will always be proud to say " I went to CVS"
